The homeowners had just built a brand-new home in the mountains and envisioned a stunning pool deck overlooking breathtaking views. They wanted a clean, low-maintenance landscape: a space where guests could relax with a glass of wine on summer evenings, surrounded by beauty without the burden of constant upkeep.
Their property was a blank slate, full of possibility. They had a clear vision: a landscape both immediately usable and thoughtfully designed, where every element served function and aesthetics from day one.

Our approach
We co-created a hardscape and plant design that was usable from day one. Dry river-rock beds turned necessary drainage into a feature, while dry-stacked walls showcased plantings that frame the property, and a staircase connects the home to the pool below. Staggered boulder terraces create natural structure and dimension, working with the mountain terrain. We installed sod for immediate lush greenery, with no waiting for grass to establish. The comprehensive design included retaining walls, boulder terracing, plant design with mulching, a locking-block wall, and evergreen screening for privacy. The result is a refined mountain retreat, beautiful and functional from the moment we finished.
